Post up your summer mods/fixes....

I need to install the longer front brake hoses & longer shocks.

I will also probably rebuild one of the old Q-jets and slap it on the 388 to see I can improve on the 7mpg it gets. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif Hopefully that will be accomplished without losing any power. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

I also need to weld up the broken weld on one of the Flowmasters /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

That is a sweet looking burban. I want your front clip too. Don't have many summer plans. I have a lot of little things I want to catch up on my truck. I'm planing on buying a electric fan of a windstar tommorow or monday. And I need to finish all the timming in my fenders and front core support. If I can ever find on for a good price I'm gonna swap front clips.

When I come back from Afgainistan next spring I will be finishing my engine plans, building the tranny and getting the ORD doubler and installing it all. /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

I'm plannin on goin out more and doin more damage to the Burb, mainly body damage, i just don't like the straight body look, much like my women, curvy, but not all banged up and dented, just the truck. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

thats one damn sexy suburban!!!

for the summer.... gettting her running again shes been sitting without even being started since thanksgiving last year... so every fluid hose belt etc is being replaced, im rebuilding the TBI, replacing the fuel filters.... painting her flat black /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif thats about it.... after i get my own place then ill worry about 4.56s and a front shaft...

is it ablazer that youre converting? or is it a burb?iether way keep me/us posted on how you do this and take lots of pics! /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grind.gif

If you're interested in having your TBI rebuilt check out my brother's work when he did mine. It works sweet now.

He does TBI's and carburators for a living.

oooooooo So how much would that cost. I may need to find a 454 body and send it his way, mine runs so bad.

I might just do that. I have a second complete 88 454 FI system here. What all doe he do to the system? does he flow check the injectors and get them matched?

Ok My list for the Burb.
Rear Sway.
Lookin at putting the Air Lift helper bags on the rear to get it up a couple inches. Looks like its sitting low even though it's level.

I may plumb this so I can use them to help if I need to raise or drop the tounge on the trailer to keep from dragging the rear of the trailer.

Need to wire my lights on the roof rack.

Build the center control center for all the lighting and add ons like the bags. Get it wired up with the inverter for powering the laptop and navigation gear.

I think my big Bad Hellas are going up on the rack and the truck is getting a Billit Grill.
'
Get my CB antteann off th rain gutter and on the rack.

Some A/C tune ups including insulating all the lines and the Drier can to try to improve the performance of the R134. One thing I am looking at is installing some Sunbrella or some sort of screening into the floor of the Cargo Master roof rack. This will keep a larger portion of the roof in the shade to drop some of the termal radiated heat from the sun. Finish tinting the windows as well.

I may build the sound systme up. It's not bad now but the 8 inch Bazookas are not up to the sheer volume in the Sub.

Some other stuff to make the truck a better tow rig inluding some storage ideas. Other lighting upgrades including a lot of LED lighting to lower some of the electrical demand so that It is better able to deal with charging possibly 4 batteries. This would be a AUX battery on the truck. and at least one and possibly to batteries on the camper. Camper will go LED as well for it's running lights.

I hate the paint. I am concidering haveing the bottom half painted in a Silver and doing a little hot rod look to it. This paint job caught my eye. Top of my Burb is a dark blue so it would not be that bad to paint the white silver at the currnet cut line and do a little graffic at the cut line.

Yeah your eyse are not decieveing you. A Short bed crew. Damn near the perfect vehicle. If it wasn't so in the dirt. I like low but that's a littl too low for me. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Also looking at some performance Gains. Guy is giving me a set of factory Stainless headers tomorrow. Those may go on it. Some exhaust upgrades. Stock mufler is a little restrictive.

Well I mostly have plans to have fun and go trips (I also have a K5) but I need to change the engine (6.2l Diesel with a turbo) Swap in the D60/14bFF instead of the 3/4 ton 10b and 14bSF and put 33" tires.
/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Just a few things to do this summer:

<ul type="square">
*3/4 ton axles
*52's in front and 6" springs in back
*Rims &amp; Tires
*Body &amp; Paint
[/list]

That should keep me busy for awhile.
