hey all, was purousing around and stumbled across this....

http://www.stanadyne.com/view.php?id=40

most of you may already know about the DB4 or "marine" DB2, but i had never heard about it. Seems that it has much higher injection pressures of over 11k psi, where the DB2 only has around 6-7k psi. Im wondering if the DB4, if bolted on an old 6.2L would not only boost the pony count, but for highway cruising have improoved combustion efficiency and mileage. To that end, do yall think i would have to switch to marine injectors to work with the DB4 pump? or could the original injectors work with a good rebuild? maybe 6.5L injectors instead?

Or am i just way off base, and running a DB4 would require a complete tear down and custom rebuild of the engine with aftermarket components in order to keep from scattering parts all over the road?

Anytime you burn more fuel, your probably going to see your mileage go down. I have no experience with the swap though so I'm not sure of real world numbers.

nevermind.... heard back from a diesel shop that works with stanadyne pumps. the two arent interchangeable. blast.... foiled again. i was hoping for VP44 injection pressures.
