power barn door locks?

Any luck this weekend? I went to the yard this weekend and they had just sent a MINT '86 Burb to the crusher....... I was pist, he told me it had tons of good **** on it still too but its been a while since I have been there and he had to make room for some p.o.s. Toyotas , so needless to say I will be going more often....LOL

I didnt find any door handles, but I did find out my maillady has a 3/4 Burb she's willing to part out for me. Her husband has dibs on most of it, but if the price is right, I'll get the axles and suspension. I did call a few places on friday and I'll be hard pressed to get info over the phone. My usual place doesnt even have any vans, let alone ones with rear door handles. I might just make one with crap I have laying around.

thanks for the pics, see what i can do with that, funny thing is i HAVE thouse contacts on my door???

maybe i have power and it is just not working that would be sweet.

and as far as interior door handels it souldent be that hard to rig somthing up with what you have got

To open the door from the inside I just drilled a hole through the door and the rectangular plate that the outside button pushes against to open the door. Then I took some wire and stuffed it through the hole in the door and the plate, bent it up over the plate and brought it back through the door. I then wrapped it around a key ring. You can then pull the key ring to open it from the inside. It's simple, cheap, and isn't very noticeable - and it works.

As for the power locks, I'd check out what you have. Make sure it's lubed up. Mine work but work best when it's warm. When it's cold I have a hard time opening it with the key.
