I want to install my sub. But I need to run power from the battery. My has top posts. Where can I get power from? How do I get power from my truck for the sub?

i've ran a 4 gauge wire to my top post. I never had any problems...

Yeah, you can get a different connector for the battery cables that has additional connections on it for this purpose. It makes hookup a lot easier.

What kind of wattage are you going to be pulling through the power wire? If you are around 600 or less, just go with an 8 guage power wire.

A Stinger amp kit, or a brand similar, should supply you with all the parts needed.

You'll cut a short piece of power wire, around 18" or less. Crimp on an eyelet at one end (on 4 guage wire I use a vise grip to do the crimp, they clamp harder than pliers) and put the other end of your short power wire into the fuse body. This is the first part of your power lead, now it should be attached to the battery post at one end and have a fuse mounted somewhere safe near the battery at the other end of the shorty. Now pull some more power wire from your spool and and fish it through the firewall somewhere safe where it won't get cut, then continue to fish it through the interior (likely under the carpet) and back to your amplifier. Make your power lead connections on the amp itself. Now go back to the battery and fuse, cut the long power wire to the appropriate length where you can put it into the fuse body. now you'll slide in the power wire into the other side of the fuse and should now have a power lead from the battery to the amp.

On the ground, just come off the amp with a short, same guage, black wire....attach eyelet to opposite end, drill a small hole in the floorboard, sand a little around the hole to make a shiny connection spot, and bolt on your ground wire.

Walmart sells a great top post power block deal for like $7. Scosche makes it i think....its chrome.
