power steering gear box question

Well, the 4wd box certainly rotates correctly for that application. But would require more engineering than I'm capable of. hahaha.

A 2wd box rotates the same direction as a 4wd box. They are the same box. The only difference is the sector shaft. A 4wd sector has about 5 splines in one spot and a slot for a pinch bolt. The 4wd pitman arm is held on the sector with a pinch bolt.

A 2wd sector is splined all the way around and has 4 wide splines at each 90* around it. It is threaded on the end and uses a washer and big nut to hold the pitman arm on.

When I did x-over on my D60 I just dropped a 2wd sector in my 4wd box as my 4wd box is tapped for hydro at the spool valve.

Oops, yeah. And I thought I logic'd that whole thing out. My bad.

You know, that's right.... now find a different box...

The difference in steering efficiency is a wide margin. If you've ever driven a truck with both set ups off road, you will know.
It was the first thing I did to this truck once it was lifted.
