Power Steering Pulley Install

Im having a problem re installing my power steering pump pulley. I have a 90 K5 Blazer with a 5.7. Looked in my chiltons it says to use a bolt with washer and nut. Heading to the hardware store tomorrow morning for the proper size since my snap on puller kit doesnt have the right thread. Anyone installed this any other way? Ive already seen the 4 part video on youtube it wasnt very helpful. Thanks guys
 
thanks dude I wasnt sure if theyd have it. im hesitant to rely on autozone at times but strangely enough they save my ass alot of times
 
Yep, the same tool kit that they rent you for pulling the pulley has a tool for putting it back on. I had returned the tool after pulling the pulley off my old pump, and had to go back and re-rent it when I realized I couldn't tap the pulley on the new pump with a hammer.
 
the autozone rental kit does not work for me. I believe I have the stock pump. They probably modernized the thread size on the OEM replacements over 25 years. Im headed to the hardware store tomorrow morning. I would buy a new pump if my budget wasnt tight. If I wanted to get real crazy id just change the thread size with a tap and dye.

I have the a/z ki and it works just fine. lots of times you need to run a tap or thread chaser in the hole on the pump . cause mud/dust/junk build up .

and I have done anything from 79k30 to 90's serpbelt / to 99-up vortec engine stuff with my little red a/z kit .
 
I put bolts in alot of rusty holes and this one just doesnt feel right. I tried to force it in and it just keeps spinning the pump. I was at the hardware store the guy says its a 3/8 bolt but the threads are rough. I might just say **** this headache and get a new pump lol

I got a new pump and my snap on tool works with it now im scratching my head thinking how deep I have to re install the pulley back on
 
Normally about flush with the shaft, but I like to have the pump installed and line it up with the another pulleys
 
I installed the pulley flush with the shaft as far as my snap on tool would allow it to go. I have a old belt on incase it snaps. So far so good put atleast 30 miles. No visible wear or damage
