Will the power steering pump of a 82 2 wheel drive work on a 79 4 wheel drive? the look the same, so how about it will
they??

*wink*

my 79 rust bucket will run over your 2001 chevy 4X4 tahoe plastic wagon

If the pulley/shaft is the same it should bolt up. Just check all mounting places.

Those pumps are the same. The brackets and pulley may be different, but the actual pump is the same.

It is just as much fun to build it as it is to bash it

The only thing that changed over the years was the fittings on the inlet and outlet and the valve. The valve can easily be swapped into the new pump from the old just by unscrewing the pressure outlet fitting. Of course, the pulleys and brackets may also need to be swapped. That same basic pump design is still being used today (with a few refinements).

Top signs you don't have a real 4x4:
4) Twin Traction Beam
3) Made by D.C.
2) 5 lug nuts
1) Unibody
