Power steering pump shaft play

i got a power steering pump with my hydroboost set up, and the thing has about a 1/32" of forward to rear play in the shaft of the pump... seals all look fine, and no off axis play in the shaft... but i need a new one right?

fairly normal...

SOME end play is normal--unless its noisy,leaking,or has radial play in the bearings,I'd say its normal..all my P/S pumps will move in and out if you push and pull on the shaft at least enough to be noticeable..I wouldn't worry about it...

Average shaft end play is about 1/16". Yours is fine.
