I have been having issues with power steering pumps, last night i blew my 4th one out. The front seal on the pump blew out and leaked all my fluid out. After the last pump went out i put a trans cooler into the power steering return line. I am running a 2004 hydro boost pump, hydro boost brakes and normal powersteering. Any ideas on why i keep blowing out the front seal on the pump?

What brand and where are you getting your pumps? Is it a Re-man pump? I know for a fact A1 Cardone has been having large quality control issues lately. I'd suggest a new one or a AC Delco reman at best.

I got it from autozone, i have a lifetime warranty so i don't really want to go buy a new one. Im not sure if it is a pump issue or its a system issue

Well next time it goes out you could always demand your money back and tell them your done playing games with the ****ty rebuilds.

Have you ever replaced the hoses??..it's not common, but a pressure hose can collaspe internally and block the flow,if the lining gets mushy, and that could cause a pressure build up in the pump..but I'd think you would hear the releif valve squealing or the belt, since that would put a huge strain on the pump..its very possible the rebuilders aren't putting new seals in,or aren't using the right ones,or they have unskilled laborors installing them..(#3 the most likely, but I've seen a lot of "rebuilt" parts lately that just look pressure washed & painted salvage yard items too!)..
