Kind of indicative of alot of buyers of these trucks?????

When Chevy came out the first time with more Ford offered for customers to come in and get a new tune on their trucks to eclipse the Chevy power numbers. I am sure Chevy is doing the same thing.

Interesting to see how far it goes

Id say let them have at it, the Diesel Emissions standards are only going to get worse and might as well enjoy it while we can

Wow well that wasn't even close, anyone who tows knows that a modern diesel truck can maintain its speed over even semi level ground but if I were looking at a new truck forget that. The braking performance of that Chevy would seal the deal right there.

I don't care how fast you can go, if I have to replace the brakes every year or so cause they get used so hard thats gonna suck.

Very good test IMHO

that difference is in the transmissions. IMO. not the strength of the exhaust brake effect in the turbo. the allison is just better.

I was looking at the spread of gear ratios in the trans', and thought the ford had a better spread of ratios than the Allison, but alas the proof is in the performance numbers. Also it was mentioned in a forum that the Duramax engines are SAE dyno proven numbers not just claimed.

DMAX owns, just dont by a lb7 like me. I will be replacing injectors soon. I have two out of spec right now. Looks like I get to spend 4k on injectors :(

I love my LBZ, but damn the LML's are awesome......if only they didnt have all the emissions crap.

Meh, I'd still take a Cummins

A 5.9 for sure, the new 6.7......eh....I dont know about. My neighbor has one (well has had 2), first one got bought back under lemon law, the replacement aint no better. Hes gettin horrible mileage, and it still disappears for a few days at a time when hes there (at the dealer). The old one went out of here on a rollback at least a half dozen times, this one has only done that twice that I know of.

That would suck....

Sure 500lbs may be good, but too much is just enough right?

400HP & 800ft lbs???? and it can actually move under it's own power?

I prefer a 500HP/1000ft lbs Cummins personally, but to each his own....

In all seriousness, Dodge is likely to make the next move in a year or two to get back on top. But in all reality it's getting silly anyway. 400/800 numbers are more than some of the old 18 wheelers from the 60''s/70's era that were moving 80,000lbs.
