prerunning an old chevy?

They are Goodyear MTR "Project" Tires with Kevlar belts. I have raced on them a few times and like them. Sidewalls are too stiff for most of your applications. But, you knew that!

already called that company. I awant that front end so bad. It is beautiful

yeah, its $800 for the fenders, hood, and valance /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif
but they have the nicest glass on the market

That would be awesome, but I bet that landing HURT.

[/ QUOTE ] not in that truck... ive seen it in videos land from 10'+ and drive away like its nothing. its all about travel. but of you plan on driving a prerunnered truck on the street try to keep travel to a MAX of 12" trust me, it just doesnt feel safe on the road with more than that.

No actually its more about controlled suspension movement. I can have 20" of wheel travel but if its not controlled in a smooth manner it will ride much worse than a truck with 8" of well controlled travel.

There are many trucks out there that swing much more than 12" of wheel travel and drive just fine. Take my blazer for instance, the 52's in the front swing wwayyyy more than 14" of travel but because I have the ability to control their movement precisely it handles much better than it did before with stock length springs and shitty aftermarket shocks.

While on the subject of control. In relation to shocks what is the difference between prerunner and bypass shocks? 2 tube and 3 tube bypass shocks? And what would determine wether you needed a 3" or a 2.5 "

"PreRunner" is a name that Sway-A-Way stuck on one of their lines of dampers, nothing more. Dampers are either all internal valving or a combo of internal and external valving ("by-pass"). By-pass dampers still have internal valving but it those are set really stiff so that the by-pass valving does all of the mid-stroke work.

2.5" vs. 3.0" would be determined by lots of factors; speed, vehicle weight, unsprung mass, application (pre-run, short course, or desert), etc.
