A previous owner installed this A/C unit on a bracket that bolted to the top and it was right behind your head. So first thing I did was remove it. With it installed you couldn’t remove the top at all and I’m planning on someday getting a soft top. I still need to remove the components under the under for this.

Long before I purchased the M1009 I had the vision that I wanted one with the 6.2 and an NV4500. With the issues of the 4L60e in this one that made the purchase of an NV4500 happen sooner and I picked this one up last night. It’s from a 94 one ton and supposedly doesn’t have many miles on it since a rebuild. Needs cleaned up and I might try to inspect it some the best I can without tearing it apart before I put it in the blazer. Obviously if I see something I’m probably going to tear it down or take it somewhere to have them do it. A buddies dad owns a shop and has done several of these. I also still need to gather the rest of the parts needed to convert the blazer to a manual.

So I’ve been driving the blazer once or twice a week at least and a few weeks ago everything was fine, I pulled into the gas station to run in and grab a drink. Came out and the blazer was dead. I let it set for a bit and it started. Ram back to the house and got a different vehicle. Last week I finally got the chance to test the batteries and sure enough one was dead.

Batteries coming soon…

So my headlights didn’t work, among other lights not working that I’m trying to track everything down. One of my headlights looked like it had been shot with a BB gun and I was wanting to swap to LEDs anyways. A buddy said he ordered these pictured below so I ordered a set and they came in yesterday.

I had about 2 minutes when I got home from work yesterday before I had to leave for a meeting so I ran outside and just unplugged one of the headlights and plugged one of the new ones in. I have headlights now! Well at least one anyways. Haven’t tried the other one yet. Lol. Hopefully get these installed this weekend.

Got the headlights installed yesterday after work before I had to run again. Got home after dark and had to at least turn them on.

Waiting on park lights to come in to replace one from the lense just falling off. Decided to just replace both. Going to order the rest of the light lenses sometime and switch everything else to LEDs.

Also got new door handles in. Got the driver side replaced and it works fine. Replaced the passenger side and went to test it and now the door is hard to lock and it will not unlock at all with the door shut. Luckily I had left the window down and still had the door panel off when I tested it. Took me a minute but I finally got the door back open. Tried finding what was wrong and nothing seems out of place other then just the lock mechanism on the door latch in the door is hard to move. So looks like new door lock/latch mechanisms are gonna be ordered soon along with some black locks and black mirrors.

Ordered new door latches through Auto Metal Direct as they were having a sale. Well it was only on in stock parts and the driver side door latch was out of stock. Got the new one in for the passenger side though which was good because that's the one that was messed up anyways. Got it replaced and everything works again. It was weird though, out of the truck both parts looked and performed the same but when installed the old one would not unlock. You had to push really hard on the locking part of the door latch inside the door. But not installed it seemed to work fine and lock/unlock freely. I'll have to keep watching for the driver side latch to get back in stock and I will go ahead and replace it as well just because.

On another note I have been having some issues with my 03 Suburban throwing an accelerator pedal position code. I done a lot of research when I could but had not done much as far as diagnosis of it as I havent had time. A lot of people ended up replacing the sensor on the pedal or the entire pedal assembly with sensor. So I took a chance and picked up a new pedal assyembly through Napa as I got a good price on it due to a buddy working there. Finally got the chance to install it and remembered as I was removing mine that I had adjustable pedals. Sure enough, the one i got was for a vehicle with fixed pedals. Hence one reason it was probably as cheap as what it was. My bad, I didn't look into it that much. So I put mine all back together and have been driving it for two days now with no issues. Go figure. The new one will go back and get exchanged for oil and filter for the blazer instead!

After I got the door latch installed last Friday the girl friend and I went to eat. She said “let’s take the blazer” so naturally I obliged. Lol. Had to swing through the local “stealership” and take the obligatory picture.

Sometimes it’s the stupid little stuff. Lol. Bought new wiper blades and ended up breaking the stud off of the arm where the wiper blade goes on on the passenger side wiper arm. So ordered two new arms and got them put on. Noticed the driver side was also broke not to mention just old and needing paint anyways.

Haven’t done much with it lately. Been busy with other stuff. Do have the door latch mechanism for the driver side door to install along with new strikers. Also have new door pins and bushings I need to install at the same time so all is well. Plan on making them removable. Need to start ordering lift parts so I can also work on the transmission swap.

If you haven't replaced your locks yet, GMCPauls has lock sets that are keyed to one key for doors and ignition, and also for rear window (maybe power window only).
I need to spend a day on mine, they have multiple sets on one key as well. 73 k20, suburban, 2 blazers all on one key. I can't wait!

Thanks, but I ordered new AC Delco locks the other day. I also have another ignition I'm going to swap into the column and go back to the square key for the column and a round key for the door locks. The plan also is to ditch the K5 tailgate for a truck tailgate and run a soft top. So no lock/key needed for the gate. With the soft top I also probably wont lock it very much and just keep any valuables locked up in the Tuffy console. I use to run some J**ps with soft tops and never locked them in hopes that a thief would try the door first instead of cutting the top.

I need to spend a day on mine as well. I have several parts stacking up on my kitchen table needing installed. LOL.

Well this is how the day started. Was driving to work and went to pull into the gas station and realized I had a tire go flat. As it turned out I picked up a wrench and then the tread separated. So this tire is done for.

The only jack I had was a Hi Lift. Wasn’t ideal but was going to have to work as I was trying not to bother anybody. Ive used them multiple times for various things, once to put the four inch lift on my Suburban with the combination of jack stands. I know the dangers etc but it’s what I had due to neglect on my part. Well with the e brake set I guess it unloaded the rear end enough to roll still and I didn’t have anything to chock the front wheels. I was trying to get the spare on just as it started to roll and I tried to get it out of the way but wasn’t successful. So now I have a new dent. Can’t blame anybody but myself. I was literally driving to work this morning thinking I needed to get new tires ordered and get the lift installed.

I ended up calling a co worker and he brought his floor jack by and I got the spare put on and made it to work.

I wanted to cut that lower part off behind the rear wheels but wasn’t gonna do it anytime soon. Might happen sooner than later now. Lol.
