Pro Comp Extreme Mud Terrains

I've had the Pro-Comp mud terrains on my CJ-5, very good traction wise, but the side walls cut easily! I cut 2 of them wide open, and that was under the wieght of a CJ.
I ran the Pro-Comp Extreme's on my 2002 Avalanche, 33x12.50/15's, and they were wore out at 15-18,000 miles. That was alot of street use though. They "cup" very easily and quickly.

That's exactly the problem we had above, and even kept up on rotations and replaced all wear items on a 07 avalanche. They were 35s tho. And 100% street use.

I absolutely hate those tires

MT/R Kevlars are the shet. I ran them on my own rig and loooooooooooved em. I've never seen a tire that self cleans so well in the mud.

I have had a set of pro comp 35 M/Ts on my K5 since 2007 and they still have 30-40% tread and it's a daily driver. Everyone is gonna have an opinion on tires but I have never had a single issue with them. You will need to keep them rotated often and snow driving you might as well forget about em(well in Texas' case its ice). Ive pulled past my buddies with swampers in the mud, and lean out well. Road manners are decent being a radial but whine like a bogger! It all just depends on what your doing with your rig. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a new set of M/T's

I had the old style MT/r tires when I lived in PDX and wheeled in the mountains around there, TSF, etc. I found that the Oregon clay did not clear from the tread very easily, and my tires became slicks in the stuff pretty quick.

That wasn't a problem if I went over to central Oregon, or if you lived in So. Oregon or whatever. That clay is ridiculous, but pretty exclusive to NW Oregon. I'd be reluctant to go with the MT/r tires again in that location.

Loved the tires in all other conditions tho!

Just wondering since you were all talking about procomp. anybody know anybody running Pro Comp Radial Xterrain Tires?

they are quiet on the road for sure, just seeing how you think they hold up/ do in dirt/mud...

A buddy of mine had a set of 35's few years ago on his jeep wrangler, as for street manners they were quiet but didn't wear very well. Trail riding they did pretty good, had plenty of flex and grab especially the little bit of crawling we did. In the mud they were pretty horrible, being a directional tire they are only good for forward movement, they didn't self clean well at all but that's in texas clay so his jeep hardly ever seen the other side of the mudhole. All in all I wouldnt buy a set unless it was a deal I couldn't pass up.

I refuse to ever buy pro comp due to their gay "buy 3, get 1 free" schtick where the tire price is jacked thru the roof to make up the difference...
