Project 82 TCBF -10.13.9 - progress!!!

that cap looks good! why not make a frame to put the wall at where the cap ends. u can still remove the cap and have a wall in back. just a short box for haulin stuff

Remember when you wanted to get rid of the truck? Thats a lot of work you guys just did, its got to make you feel good and more confident to do other modifications yourself. :waytogo:

I need to do a lot of rust repair to my Blazer and am not looking forward to it.

I know, its hard to believe, actually...:o

Thanks Chas, your right, it does;)

I think I`m leaning more towards using the cab wall. I can still use the rear seats when the cab wall is off, and I`ll buy a good car cover to put on the blazer when I`m too lazy to put the wall back on. I think I`m gonna go grab one now so I can take the top off and drive around topless!:D

Just ordered a waterproof car cover for the rig, called the Xtrabond from coverite. Looks like a durable piece, and even comes with a cable lock. Should work good when I leave the little cap off or the wall out....

My only wish is that you were online right now, as I can only see the red X's. Sounds like you got a lot done, can't wait to see the pics.

CAB WALL CAB WALL!!

Looks like you did a TON of great work, keep it up

Tom
hahhah, funny you should mention that. I went back up there yesterday for the 4th, and today I came back, and brought it back with me, so I can start fitting it to the rig.

Right now the rig is sitting in the driveway with the top off with a car cover on it. Its awesome driving with the top off. The looks you get from people driving their brand new cars like "What the hell is that thing?!". I`m loving the AC Shifter too. I just drove it to the hard ware store to get some blades for the scroll saw and all you could here was some Metallica, and me banging the gates of the shifter...

Good times, good times:D

Sorry, something must be wrong on your end  They`re hosted by photo bucket, and seem to be working fine here..

Well more pics would be nice...

do you still have the lokar shifter?

Tom
More pics will come, trust me. I`ll get a topless pic, and progress on the cab wall, as I start working on that..

As for the lokar, yeah, why, you interested?

Alright. Worked on the pick up wall today, but not sure if I`ll go through with it. I really don`t like the way it`s fitting and everything, and its really starting to get butchered up from from cutting, etc...I have pics, but there on my sisters laptop, so when I can get on there, I`ll bring them up. Looks like I`ll be using the cap after all. At least I have metal I can use for the wall where the cap ends. I can use the bottom of the pickup wall.;)

Now, for the 1/2 top, since the windows in the sides are all scratched, I`m going to make some new lexan ones. But what should I do for the rear? Just do a big piece of lexan, or use a big sliding window out of a newer s10?

how about a modded flip up window from a truck cap... thats what i'm doing for my hardtop, since i'll be running a truck tailgate...

sorry to hear the backwall wasn't working... i figured that might be a little tricky....

hmmm....that may work too..Maybe I can find one in a truck down the junk yard.

Yeah, that backwall was quite a little project. I guess if I really wanted/needed to, I could get it to work, but it sure wouldn`t look pretty:o

The body lines were hard to match up. When I got the sides sort of lined up, the top was way to far down. Just looked like crap. I think I`ll be better off with the 1/2 top anyways, and its alot easier:D

hhahaha

Thanks brother, I appreciate it!:wink1:

Question: I bought the poly body mount kit from ORD, and I plan on eventually replacing them, along with the cab floor again. My question is, how far can I lift the body off the frame without actually disconnecting anything? besides things like the t-case linkage.
