i dont know how to weld so how am i sopposed to attach the metal sheet to the..metal

As stated before, pop rivets or self tapping screws. If you're going to herculiner or texture in some way, I'd use something like jbweld or a liquid metal to smooth it out before lining. Also as stated, you don't need to be real smooth, just break up the lines. What will show through texture is straight lines of a patch.
