Project Blue Truck: '83 C20 - Rolling Chassis

Is anyone else seeing some weird green lines over some of the pics today? Is it just my computer? I'm trying to imagine your work with my mind.

Phase Converter V2.0 is complete and works like a champ. Before I had to get the motor spinning by pull starting it with a rope and the 2 generated phases didn't exactly sync up voltage wise with the incoming single phase. Now the generated phases are balanced much better and I can start the motor with the push of a button. I used the "Fitch W" design.

The idler motor (10 hp) still needs some rubber feet to keep it from walking around.

The panel to the left houses the contactors and capacitors.

And the 3 phase panel.

Project Blue Truck has come to an end.

Stuff I'm selling:
8.1
4l80e
All the 73-87 parts.

Stuff I'm keeping:
Tires
Wheels
Links
Axles
Transfer cases

I still want a Chevy crew cab on 44's with an 8.1 big block, but I'll just start over with one that came with the engine and has much better parts availability.

Oh damnit! After all this time? Oh well.

I know, at least most of the work was put into the axles.

But why? Hope its a new project......

I want a truck I don't mind driving around the farm so I'm looking for a 01-02 Silverado 2500HD crew cab with the 8.1L engine. My old (and first) truck was a 2000 Silverado 1500, so having same body style truck will be cool to me.

This time around I will finish all of the components like the axles, doubler, etc. before tearing the truck apart and rendering it useless.:haha:

~

That's too bad.

Good luck with the next one.

Dang... Well good luck on the next one :thumb:

I was pretty bummed loading it up on the trailer, but it was for the best. I'd be working on it another 5 years before it moved at the rate I go. It was time to cut my losses and start looking for something with better parts availability that ACTUALLY RUNS!:haha:

'Twas a sad day. The only things left from the truck are some interior pieces, some under hood pieces, the hood, and the doors.

In other news though, I finally got the 120 acre field next to my family's farm. Now I NEED to get me a beater truck to ride around in.

I own about 12 acres of the 20 acre pond split between my land, my family's land, and one other land owner. My land is colored blue, all ~2500' of the southern side is water. The other colors belong to different family members.
