Project Camo Reaper - Brake lines made - post #144

Man there is resurgence of these bumpers, I have seen at least half a dozen posted with this bumper in the last month, and before that at least a couple of years with none.:eek1:
I got's one of those.:pimp:

Same here. They have been obsolete since warn quit making them, now they are coming up.used all over the place.

Looking good Bryan. How long before you drive it

Pssh..drive it..you're funny. It's drivable right now except for no brakes. I still need to move those front brake lines like you showed me and I still have to make the brake line that goes across the rear axle. Going to attempt one or both of them Wednesday after work.
Still need to lengthen both driveshafts, weld in steering box support, weld tabs for hydro-asist but still waiting on my buddy to send the crossover (Jason, you following along??), and put on the TBI kit.

Big step for me... I made my first brake lines :D Hopefully they don't leak .
Had to make the 2 pieces that go on the rear axle and then added the extended brake line.
Also moved the mounts for the front brake lines. Instead of being on the outside of the frame I moved them under. I haven't flexed it out yet but the extended brake lines just didn't seem like they would be long enough. I will post pictures later today but I don't believe there will be any issue with them being there.

Had a few minutes after work so I removed the steering box and took the flap wheel to the frame to prep for the weld in brace. Those thing aren't really bent anywhere near close to the same shape. I can see I need to pick up a bigger hammer to help shape it into place while welding.
Going to start the welding tomorrow. Will also put in the bolt in brace.

Cool deal with brake lines. I'm sure they are fine.

As far as steering brace. Obviously, bolt it in. Then I use all the large vice grips I can round up.

A little progress

The weld in steering brace is just where I left it in June

Got one of the H1 wheels with rock rings mounted and on the Jimmy. Will be doing some trimming at the back. Have to move the tail pipe as it interferes with the springs and very close to the tire.

Have 3 other rings welded on, 2 of them painted. Still have one other to do (spare) then put them on the Jmmy. I painted the with a black hammer finish. When I get them all done I will attempt to paint the tips red to look like blood dripping :D

Hopefully there won't be a lot of my own on there

That's all for now

Wow, how sad is this... 2.5 years later I finally did something...I ordered my crossover steering.
The Jimmy has been sitting since I put the one tons in because of no steering.Hoping tomorrow to finally weld in the steering brace so I can be ready to bolt the crossover on once it gets here.

I've been playing so much pool and doing nothing with cars or 4x4's. All that is winding down now. Going to take some time off from pool and try to work on some things providing my back allows me to.
