Not to mention these "quickie Cummins swaps" :haha:

Great work, looks 1000% better :waytogo:

Still trying to decide what to put over the epoxy primer...so many choices out there. I like the bed liner idea but if I have to go back to fix something it might haunt me later. Also going to put down some Dynamat and then carpet.

I put down ruberized undercoating on my floors. It's held up well so far; I plan to put in carpet down the road but haven't yet. The ruberized undercoating seems to be working well without it though, and when I do put carpet down it should still keep water from soaking in the carpet and sitting causing rust. Also, its not really any worse than paint when it comes to having to cut into it again and make a patch; wire wheel/sand it off, and spray it back on when done.

Thanks for the "prouds" guys! (Thanks -G for that) If you only knew I had to go back and redo the complete driver's side rockers inner and outer last weekend! No fun it didn't line up very well so I cut it all out. It is alot better now, I just had to slow down a bit. I decided to go ahead and just do rubberized undercoating for the floor and then find some sort of noise reduction matting. Trying to decide which body shop to take it to now I need to get some quotes first. Also thinking of two-tone scheme with the original medium blue with white top.

What do you guys think on the paint job/color keep original?
I think it's a good looking combo, but honestly we all have our own ideas on color. If you do a good job with it I'm sure whatever color you go with will look sweet. :D

Ok I have officially ran out of talent...(well probably when I replaced the rockers) Besides dropping the seats off to get recovered with Houndstooth, carpet kit and lastly a paint job. My part is done leave it to the pros now. I finished up some loose ends this weekend, got the front clip on didn't spend anytime lining the doors and fenders up figured the body shop could do better. I finished the down pipe and got the exhaust routed past the transfer case, lined the cab floor and firewall with sound deadener. I took it around the block again so excited to drive it at speeds above 30mph! Gonna license it this week and hopefully take it out Friday to get an alignment and a couple body shops for quotes. I took some more pics I heard people around here like pictures! Oh one more thing I got done my good friend got the Eastwood powder coating kit and we tried the chrome color with super glossy clear coat for the valve covers they came out pretty good.

fantastic man! everything in the engine bay looks great and looks like it belongs there.

what all is the body shop going to be doing?

Thanks Ash, The one thing I hate about under the hood is the cheese ball plate I put over the heater holes...looks like ass. It was a quick fix and not the right one. Everything else came out good. I tried to keep it simple I guess. As far as the the body work it has a few areas that need work like right behind doors it has two very small holes on either side, line up all the body lines, and fix the rear quarters where they got smashed in a little when some loser drop the whole ass end on the concrete! That would be me...still makes me sick. Lastly put a fresh coat of paint! I hope it won't cost a crazy amount to get done. Anyone have any ballpark number to throw out for the work? What do you guys think about keeping it the original colors Medium Blue/White Top......add lower trim and the kicker......upper trim also....Maybe I should photo shop that first but I though it would be different.

It all depends on the quality of the work you want done, the type of paint, and how many surprises. To just fart some paint onto the body could be $1500 to a quality job at more like $5,6,7,8000+

Also for what its worth, most normal body shops don't like old resto work. Don't be surprised if you're turned away or way over bid. Also whatever time frame the shop tells you, double it. Especially if they do insurance work which takes priority over resto work.

The colors you got now with the factory Crome would look great IMO

Beautiful job so far! :waytogo: I think you have done awesome!! :thumb:

Yo All, Not much around this camp, I finished up the electric fan and added some gauges....I took off the top yesterday and stripped the body it's supposed to head to the body shop this week and I should get it back in 3 weeks....we'll see...I took a couple pics looks pretty good with the top off, I usually do not like the look with the top off. Best part is now I only have to let the air out of two tires to get it in the garage!

Yes exactly, Going to have him fix a few areas, align gaps and throw on a cowl hood and squirt the same color on it. While it's gone I will go thru the top and repaint it white.

I usually do not like the look with the top off.
sacrilege!
I love the looks of the 1st gen topless. If it wasn't for the skull baking heat around here in the summer I'd run without the soft top cover all the time.
