Project Grocery Getter

Uncle Pop's 1961 Ford Falcon
Short block coming together. The cam dowel isn’t coming out of the stocker so I’m waiting on Summit. New pan is painted, look ok for going on the bottom of the car. Rockers are almost fixed.
I worked on the car for four hours today. My wide called to offer me Chick Fil A for lunch. I said that’s be great, but they are closed.
Nop, I’m out in the shop not knowing it’s Monday when I should be at work. Awesome.

Talked to Uncle Pops the other day. We’re going to grab lunch at The Varsity in Athens soon. The place is getting torn down. It’s his favorite place. We would even have a Varsity day for lunch on vacations. He’d bring the plates and chili and paper hats and everything.
In Falcon news. Finally a short block.

New .030 pistons, new chain, cover and oil pump. New pan too. I rattle canned it so I can get mad every time it gets nicked.
I made sure to trim the gasket where the timing cover meets the block too. Two different sized fasteners on the pan. Six different length bolts on the cover and pump. GG Ford.

I’ve seen a bunch of traveling pics on fb, cool stuff / neat places. :thumb:

Microscopic update. I have done no work on the car. I have pleaded to no avail with Lisa on her wheel choice. I love these wheels, just not on this car, but she won't have it.

So, she gets what she wants:
Racestar 92s in 17x7. I have a paint job in the shop right now, and if I can quit losing my ass on it, I'd love to work on the bird instead.
