Project: K5

after using the almighty google, it seems as if its a cheaper ver if a flowmaster, but with better flo. So the internet tells me.

O well. :D

Flo pro makes some nice stuff. They do a lot in diesel truck exhaust. I put some Flo pro equavilent to flowmaster 40s on my k10 and like them.

Yeah it sounds nice when on the gas, it is kinda quiet otherwise, id like it to be a little deeper too. Im just to used to how my s10 sounded. very deep.

scored a new to me, headliner from the pull and pay. Much nicer than the dilapidated one that was in there.

On a side note, it may just be how my tires sound and i haven't noticed it until now but, i hear this buzzing sorta sounds like a bicycle sounds (10 speed, ect) when im driving down the road, any ideas on that?

:dunno:

Does your speedo work? Mine came unplugged and sounds like that in the dash.

During todays lunch break, i decided that i do not like the leather the last owner wrapped the dash in, very crappy job, so i tore it off to reveil a dash from the depths of hell. no problem tho im going to get it out this weekend and get all the goop off and repaint it black, also going to fix the cluster bulbs and do the chrome paint trick for brighter gauges. looking forward to this small project, should be fun, i thought i would post up a few pics of the dash, check out the number someone did to this thing.

More to come this weekend!

If you're good with bondo you maybe can fill in those cracks before paint. May look better than putting it back cracked.

Lol you think that dash is bad... Mine is ten times worse. The po put one of those black plastic LMC covers over it so im fine with it.

yep, i have one of those. heheh.

I prefer a smooth dash tho so i might go the bondo route like chulisohombre says.

I need to get some googone or something, this dash is the stickiest thing iv ever came in contact with, lol

Don't use regular bondo, use the green fiber reinforced stuff, regular bondo will crack, I tried.

awesome, thanks for that tip.

I got some googone crap to get rid of this **** left behind from the leather wrap and its not coming off, haha i might have to sand it off, does anyone know what gritt i should use on the dash?

So i got the dash off, was easier than i thought it would be.

then i found this under the dash, my fiance tells me i should put it back when im done, hehe

Lets hope this goo crap works, if it doesnt, ill try some nail polish remover, after that its sanding time.

Cheers!

Yea I wouldnt throw that away, Im not a huge believer in God, but Im d#mn sure scared of him.

And I ate into my dash my 36 grit first, then 200. I covered my whole dash with the green bondo, then resanded it with 36 to 200 to 400 then painted it. Looks good enough for me, I just covered it in stickers of crap I have accumulated over the years of owning the truck.

krud kutter only thined it out a little tiny tiny bit, got about 10 more years to rub off. o well. sanding it is.
