Project "Old Man Strength"

Dad's 1984 Chevy K20 - Rebuild started 15 years ago and put on hold to invest more time in the family business - family business taking off - time to resume building.
should need a hub nut socket for the 14ff rear . should be a 6 tab most all were this . the inner edge of the tabs towards the threads will be kind of rounded .

dana 60 front if its early it will be 6 tab and can use the same socket . if newer then its a BIG 4 tab . NOT the smaller 4 tab .

otherwise no other major stuff unless you need to change the king pin its self in the housing on the inner "C" .
Any tools for the seals, bearings, and gears? or anything else note worthy I'm forgetting...

basic tools you prob have for all that stuff . unless changing gears as in ring and pinion . if just pulling and checking and reinstalling dont mix up the bearing races side to side .

oh ya and the yoke on a 14ff is pressed on the tappered spline of the pinion . so that might be a press item . but my 20ton shop press dosnt know its on there pressing one off .

you prob wont need bearings or races inless water or junk got in . most the time clean and repack bearings and new seals . the 14ff is oil bath hubs NO grease .

The axle is about all torn down. Time to clean out a lot of the 35 years of crud out of the axle tubes. Not sure exactly what parts are going to be reused but I'll clean them all up. Time for a parts washer!
