Project Penny - All good things must come to an end

Haha Russell. You have to drive it or sell it to a CK5 member!

Too cool to part out!!

#love that lb7 sound :D

It's a shame that all the bush you can see in all these pictures is all dead. All of it burnt in the wildfire last spring. A crying shame!

D.R.U.G.S

Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows.

Also a really good rock band haha.

Scenery still looks really cool to me.

So if the trees all burnt that means it is just a big open field.... If you are just going to go wheeling in a big open field, you could just come down and play in the sand with me.

It's basically the same concept. :)

It does open up the bush a ton. You can see a lot that you couldn't before. I imagine a number of new trails will be born because of the fire!

It'll take 10 - 15 years for the bush to start looking somewhat normal again. Even then, the dead standing will remain for another 20 or 30 years before they all fall down. We have a short growing season this far North. The green things take a while to grow.

I'd love to come play in the sand, but Penny would not do well with it haha! Definitely needs a new suspension system if I was even going to consider that!

Well,

Penny is no more. This last weekend I drove her into the garage, and on Saturday morning I loaded the gutted body / frame up onto on my trailer and delivered her to the scrap yard. I have a pile of parts sitting in my shop to go onto the new Escalade build. I'm actively seeking a new donor truck to replace the 05 / ZF6 truck I sold to my buddy. In the mean time, I plan to put the 6.0L LQ9 in and get the Escalade running / driving before the snow flies. I've got a garage build to do this summer as well, so it may be a stretch to get it finished up before winter.

Escalade build thread?

Yes, I decided against the LB7 soley for the reason that I couldn't find a LB7 / ZF6 donor truck I needed for all the electronics and wiring that'll work with the Caddy body. I also broke the glow plug controller and bellhouisng adapter at some point too, so those will need to be replaced. I'll re-use the ZF6 / NP241 combo I've got right now as I know and trust the both of them.
