Project Snow Bear K20!

Did a little measuring this morning and figured out that my front driveshaft will work perfectly if I remove the flange from the CV joint and run it straight to the yoke. So I'm on the lookout for a 1350 32 spline yoke for the NP205. I do like the fact that every ujoint in this setup is 1350. So that will make keeping spares on the truck a cinch.

The rear driveshaft will need to be lengthened about 4" so there's only one way to fix that...driveshaft shop it is.

Got a little more work done today. Got the parts Burban lifted so I could remove the tank and found out all the brackets and parts are rusted to pieces. So no go on that one. I'll have to source another one.

Got my engine crossmember welded up. I'll make some 3/8 steel brackets to connect it. Should give me a little more room under there and pretty sure it will be just enough to remove the oil pan with the engine still in place. Cutting the old one out now so I can get the drivetrain set in it's final location and build the trans crossmember.

Got the factory crossmember out, new crossmember ready to go in. Had to remove the fuel pump to get the old one out. Otherwise it was pretty straight forward. Just a few hours work to get a much better setup.

Got the Big Ramsey PTO mocked up into the frame. Used some 1/8" square tubing for the cross frame pieces. The two cross members will get braces down to the frame webbing as well as angle brackets. Should be plenty strong. All grade 8 fasteners. It will sit high like this so that it can protrude through the bed floor in the back. Driveline angle looks good down to the PTO adapter on the NP205.

Tomorrow I'll make all the brackets and get it welded up permenantly. Today was a low energy day, I had to go to town and that always pulls the life out of me.

He is usually a summer bird. In the winter he is busy living/working on the mountain. He will probably be back after the thaw.

If you end up getting military take offs watch the date codes some can be rather old
I know this is an old post but if you are reading this........
The closest place I know to Colorado to pick up tires in person is Idaho motor pool in Fruitland, Idaho. They carry new and used military tires of many sizes. If you go there you can go eyes on to be sure to get the best ones. (Plus they have stuff there that will give you a truck boner)
