i got a 93 4 door vortec 4.3,auto and 4x4. i dont know if it runs yet:dunno:
short story i cut a tree down then the guy couldn't pay me.sooo i took this truck as payment
wish me luck

I got the same model.
This one was my Dad's brand new and then my sisters for another 15 years, then I bought it for $1000 since they only got offered $500 on trade in.
I knew its history, but it was still old and 213,000 miles when I got it. I have made a daily driver and have 251,000 miles now.
I have split my daily driving between my SuperDuty and this. About 90 miles round trip daily.

These are prone to some issues, but if you can handle it, then it isn't bad. This is what I have done;
Clean the EGR.
New air filter every 15,000, and oil changes 5,000
New Spyder fuel injectors
New Fuel hose nut kit
New intake plenum gasket
New fuel filter
New intake hose boot
New distributor cap, rotor, plugs, and wires
New Tires

In the past 2-1/2 years I have only paid about $600 in repair parts, all done myself.

These leak really bad between the tranny and transfer case. Just don't let transfer case vent spew onto the exhaust manifold.

I log the mileage and get 19 to 20 MPG daily driving with hills and freeway. On a trip it will average 24.5 MPG at best cruising at 55 to 60 MPH.

Also,
The front hubs are vacuum operated. Mine went quit during our last snow storm. I think it failed due to running over a snow drift and messing up an electrical connection underneath.

The vacuum actuator is under the battery, there are ways of mechanically operating it, but since mine hasn't failed because of a vacuum leak, I have simply been connecting a vacuum jumper to the vac line going to the actuator whenever I need 4x4. One day I will buy a kit to fix this or rig a similar mechanical set up to actuate from the cab.

Gonna do something like this?

I have been curious about axle swaps into the S-10 & S-15.
I have not been a fan of the full width axles on the narrow body, and I would probably stay narrow.

All of my pics from this truck are on the home computer, can post them later.

I used Jeep YJ dana 30 and a dana 35 for the rear. At the time there were no SAS kits for these so I made my own which is why I wanted the front out of a YJ with the spring perches already in a good spot. Then I built around those measurements. I think there are kits out there now with front spring hangers in the proper width for these axles.

I used 4" front Toyota lift springs from All Pro Offroad and mounted them under the front axle. They were very flexy and rode pretty good for a light vehicle on leaf springs.

The steering consisted of a 2wd steering box which I sourced from an Astrovan. Then a Jeep 4" drop pitman arm which bolted directly to the box. And the stock YJ steering linkage, of which I had to trim .75" off each end of the drag link to make it 1.5" shorter total becuase the frame rails must be a bit closer on the S10 which put the steering box closer to center. No big deal.

The rear S10 springs remained stock but I had to cut the stock spring perches off the Jeep rear axle and weld new ones on in the S10 location. I should also mention the rear I flipped from spring under to spring over the axle which gave me the rear lift. I would not have chosen the d35 rear axle but could not pass up the deal I got for the matched set with 4:10s, lock rights front and rear, front one piece axle conversion, and the steering linkage all together for $200. A Ford 8.8 rear from an Explorer would have been a stronger choice but I used what I had available.

Front d-shaft was custom made, ordered from Tattons. Rear I had made locally.

Here you can kinda see the front spring hanger. I bought one but it was too short so I cut it and sleeved it for length.
