Are you using the rear bracket on the pump? Is it ok to remove the bolt in the back of the pump to mount it up?

Any pictures of your setups would also be a big help.

Thanks

Ok, so I need a breather to go with that tube?

The tube IS the breather. One side is connected to the top, I've got a ziptie holding one loop in the tube to help stop spillage, and the other end secured/whistling Dixie. That's all that's needed, just a breather for the fluid fluctuation in the reservoir. Sorry, I don't know about the mount, I'm running serp stuff.

(without the loop, it spills a tiny bit on super steep stuff)

Hmmm, I guess this means I should avoid putting my truck completely under water. I'm a little worried about having an open spot for debris to get in unless there is a little check ball in the elbow?

Just a suggestion here, but how about a small fuel filter in the line? That of course wouldn't give a check-ball effect, but some filtration.

Don't worry about it. Many of us have been running the breather tube open to the elements for a long time with no issues.

A lot of guys here live in a dry climate. I drive this truck through hours of salt mist regularly in addition to the occasional sinkage that seems to be an annual occurrence for me at this point.

A fuel filter is a good idea, but this line is very small. I'll try to see whats around at the parts store.

Than I would do a couple loops to keep water out/fluid in and a filter. :)

Ok :D

Follow up question. I have two return lines. Can I plumb one to the AUX port or do both lines need to get tied into a T and routed to the IN port?

Rich, maybe I missed it, but what size is the vent line? I've seen lots of cap/filter type deals on hydraulic tanks on equipment and such, usually a plastic cap looking thing filled with oiled foam, air can pass in and out but water and dirt... not so much. Let me know the line size and I'm sure I can find one next time I'm at the hydraulic shop.

It's 1/4 inch line. I just grabbed a fuel filter for now.

I can't find anything to plug the aux port. The fittings are not pipe thread. :dunno:
