that looks about right. youve got a lot more to work with then i do. what will you choose for parts?

Still shopping, looking like classic trucks or whatever the name is. Just not LMC, hearing too many complaints.

Lmc sucks for replacement panels, what's wrong with plastic and fiber glass, it's not a classic hot rod? I have a dryer or washer panel holding my feet off the ground on the drivers side complete with a rust inhibitor, silicone and screws. Can't see sh!t with new carpet over it????:dunno:

The funny part is LMC and all the others sell the exact same panels. They're re-branded multiple times and distributed everywhere. Find the best price and service and go with that.

I'm amazed you were able to unbolt the lower seatbelt area...I put the wrench to mine and came away with a good sized chunk of the sidewall area. BTW, they don't make that part where the seat belt bolts up, you're gonna have to build it yourself.

I was wondering about that. I couldn't imagine multiple companies producing the same part for one truck. Yeah seat belt bolt area looks horrible but it's still strong somehow. When I found it I locked the seat belt up with me in the seat and pushed against it. It never flexed. I'm sure a nice collision would be different. Gonna box it in real nice.
Thanks

LMC is OK, I would use them for your repairs as it is an area where it won't be used a lot by passengers. LMC is ok stuff, just thin; I couldn't MIG weld in my LMC stuff do to the thinness, I used a TIG welder; however, I do suck at MIG welding. Tabco makes great floorboards and kick panels, but there Rockers suck. Don't know much about the others, but Goodmark is another manufacture for replacement stuff.

Im about to start on some of the same repairs on my Blazer too. I can't decide where to order my parts from, seems like everyone has a little different opinion on who has the best stuff. I was thinking that all of them where the same parts so I guess I'm going to just shop by price.

I'd make any part you can. Mostly anything except the tail pan with the ridges isn't too bad to make.

Grinder, lots of cutoff wheels, some soap stone and a welder and your good to go.

I used some 16 gauge sheet steel from tsc.

I have a lot more but here is one example.

And bedliner hides all anyways.

Got the tail pan done last night. Having some trouble getting the gap on tailgate sides equal. Gate needs to go to the drivers side for equal gap. Hinge bolts to tail pan didn't line up good, had to pry some and line it up. Thinking maybe use die grinder and open tailpan holes for adjustment. Any comments.
Thanks.

Figured out the gap on the tailgate last night, the 1/2 inch bolts that the rear quarter panels bolt to the tailpan we loosened them and both side relaxed. We lifted the rear of the blazer with a 4x4 under the bed rails and lifted with a engine hoist. Pulled the gaps open tighten bolts then set tailgate hinge position. I did open the hinge mount holes on the tailpan. Had plenty of adjustment then. Gaps not show car perfect but closes good.
I will get pics posted this weekend.

Finally got around to getting pics of harddrive. Still have to take some pics finished. One step closer, now for all the interior.

Nice job, im at that stage of replacing the complete tail pan.

I see your using clecos, they make metal work so much easier.

Whats the vehicle under the tarp layin frame?

87 burban, belongs to the guy who done the welding for me. Pretty nice, air on all four corners, tucks 20s. Just not my taste.
