When I joined CK5 many years ago, I had 2 show blazers. After many boring days spent sitting next to my rig at car and truck shows, and seeing many mods on chevy trucks here, I decided to go back to my roots, start wheelin' again. I retired my purple k5 from the show seen and started with a 60/14 combo. From there I just beat the body off the rig, cut-it and made a full truggy.

7 years ago, I traded 4 tires for aka Eddatree's 76 cali k5. Great deal, rust free pan for my NEW purple blazer. Well, after sitting in storage for 7 years, it's time to get started!

Here's my purple k5 in 97'

You didn't call it "Barney" by chance did you? :D
:haha::haha::haha:

I agree that showing can be fun....as in looking at all the other vehicles, and commeraderie amongst other entrants, but keeping stuff clean, especially underneath is such a pain in the arse.

I'm glad to see you returning to wheeling with it, you'll have more fun, and then you get to spend more money too!;)

Wow that thing was CLEAN!! So your putting a new body on it. Whats that body look like? Any pics of it? You going to paint it purple too? Other plans?

The word "Barney" has come up..lol. The truck was suppost to be "Radar Blue"..it's a S-10 color. The guys that mixed the paint used a varience formula insted of the standard formula. I refused to pay for the paint, the paint store basically gave me the paint. After spraying the color, it grew on me.

I still have all the clean sheet metal, fenders, hood, doors and new 1/4 panels..I'm doing a frame off resto. fuel injected drivetrain from a 90' k5. 350/700r/241 combo.

I could probably fix the 1/4 panels..here's the bed.

It's a great starting platform. Just needs EVERYTHING :D. Bed looks real clean inside.

I have everything..exept wheels and tires. I'm looking for 456 gears too!
I'll take some pics after I pressure wash the pan..I'm soooo happy. Life can really suck living in the rust belt!

Rust is the Devil. I HATE rust.

It will be nice having something that actually looks like a K5 again:D I would love to have a nice clean mildly modded K5 to DD, but no time or money for that. Can just have one K5 right now and like you I found it was much more fun to wheel it then show it.

I need something to promote my business..body and paint bring in way more cash than the offroad..so the K5 project was born..plus I have paint, parts, barders to collect...you name it. Now I need to get my ass in gear and make it happen! :D

I don't mind at all a simple fender with rust or whatever, things easily replaced, but when it's deep in the body structure......anger sets in :doah:

How is Ed doing? Used to chat with him almost daily way back when...in fact the last time I talked to him I think that K5 was still being driven.

Looking forward to the new build!

Rene

Ha ha! Beat'er to death for sure..thanks!
I'm painting the buggy soon also..black with candy red and purple flames.

Badlands? I'm going to wellsville with some local buds..
I'd like to go out there with 6.2 and Buford!:wink1:

I'll have some more pics..soon.
(I just raided my k5 and jimmy graveyard.)

Rene, I haven't seen Ed in a while..
I ran into him at Yankee lake 2 years ago.
He's a Jeep guy now..:doah:
