Push lock fuel line AN fittings...troubles

seen too many people lost there hard earned time and money too those fittings failing and burning the thing to the ground if i have a vehicle and there on it thats the first thing to change
Yeah, a fire is one of my worst fears, although I've driven a couple thousand miles like this with no problems. Now I'm about to embark on a 2000 plus mile road trip (Blazer Bash!!) so I think I'll be fixing things up a bit.

I trust the push lock hose from Parker after all if the years that I have used it, but I don't know that I would trust that hose again with gasoline. Maybe it will be fine if you use a different assembly lube. You have to make the decision.
Was it too easy to assemble?

Come to think of it it did assemble quite easily I was expecting more of a fight.

Based on the link Wes posted the Fragola fittings have a pressure threshold above which they require the clamps.

@Cheavyk10 were your fittings like those you put in the first post with multiple barns or are they single barb type like in the link Wes posted?

Yep like in the first post with the multiple barbs.

This explains why I’ve never had an issue also because I’ve never run more than 15-16 psi.

The Russell twitlok hose that I use is a serious fight for -06, gets easier as hose gets larger. I will say even if I only get the hose on one of the barbs I generally cant pull it off to save my life and cut it and start over.

I have 50K miles on the fuel lines in my daily driver. I have driven that truck across some of the most remote roads/lands in north America. Driven it with air temps ranging from -30F to +120F.

I put about 20-30K on the fuel lines for my LS swap bfore I sold it. That guy is still driving along with the truck..

As someone who does aircraft hydraulics for a living. Buy quality fittings. Then buy the hose that is made for those fittings. It is really common in the AN world for manufactures to make their hose/fittings only work with their own stuff. You can make miss matches work but they are not always perfect. This is more common with the tradition clamping an fittings since the ID and OD matter.

I honestly think failure is either inferior parts or the lube used to assemble it. The fact that that hose does not have a manufacture on it. and the fact that it is measured in 3/8 yet it was installed on a -06 AN fitting. While yes they are technically the same size go back to my previous statment about miss matching manufactures. I blame the hose personally.

I'm a victim on Chinesium...
Yes I agree on the hose being subpar. And now I'm second guessing the fittings. Time for some product research!!
I'm going to jump on Summit and see what I can come up with.

What do the hoses look like assembled? How much bulge from the barbs? How tight are they? Can you twist the fitting in the hose?

Here is one of my joints. I cant budge it. The hose twists and kinks but the fitting does not move.

Note the manufacture name, pressure rating, and date of manufacture printed right on the hose.

I am by no means saying go buy Russell. Get whatever you want as long as its quality.

Damn, notice the lack of bulge, and yes I can twist the hose right on the fittings. I was supposed to take this truck camping this weekend but it's going to stay parked until I can get this resolved. Thanks for the heads up!! IMG_20210726_194859382.jpg

Yes As @TreeFarm keep the brand the same, I didn't know this when I did some fuel line work. I used a mixture of summit branded and jegs branded with some left overs. I had bitch of time with some of the fittings. I was using socket and nipple fittings with generic nylon pfte hose.
When I did the oil cooler I had order a hose kit, Evil Energy -10an. Those hoses went together with out a fight.
As I prepare to redo my trans cooler to a remote cooler I have ordered all Fragola products and the same series. I think Fragola will be my preferred braided hose brand.

I just pulled the trigger and ordered up some Earls Vapor Guard hose, fittings, and clamps from Summit. Should be here before the weekend so I could still take my truck camping. And the only fire I will have will be in the fire pit for s'mores...
Again thanks everyone for considering my situation I didn't realize how severe it could have been.
