So these are the style of an fuel line push locks that came with my command center 2.0. I was wondering if anybody has ever had any trouble with these.
I was down at my local harbor freight today picking up some stuff and on the way home my truck died at a busy intersection in the turn lane. I popped the hood to see 58 psi of 93 octane spaying right at my headers, luckily the truck was pretty cool or this could have been a super disaster. What had happened was one of the fuel lines blew off one of these fittings. It was an easy fix as I grabbed a hose clamp and put it back together right there in the street.
The hose seems like it got pretty soft probably from crappy ethanol gas. Now I'm wondering if I should put hose clamps on all of these fittings for safety sake after I replace the hoses. Obviously it's not the way these fittings were designed to work but I don't want this to happen again.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with these type of fittings?
