I have read a lot about propane injection on diesels and I am experimenting on my engines, I also know about a few diesel pusher motor homes with smaller CAT engines and cummins that are using it and praise it so much, but any of you know if it's being used or has any noticeable benifits on a bigger CAT 15.8 liter 3406E to be exact.
Is it just the fact these big rigs make enough money off their fuel expesnes that they don't want to mess with any extra stuff or is it the fact most of them worry about the warranty that they don't want to add anything that could void the warranty.
Do you know of any after market that has offered anything for the big rigs?
I will do some more research but any input is always welcome.

I just found one kit called the enhancer, and emailed hem for pricing and more info. :D

There is one system out there but I forget the name. I think it was set to work off of boost. What I don't know is if it injected the gas before or after
the turbo.

I'm almost positive that it injects a vapor not a liquid. But if it would do liquid the cooling effects that would give you to the intake charge on a long hard and hot pull sure wouldn't hurt things. The cooling effect is because propane boils at -45 degreesF and that should help cool the intake air charge some.

I can't find the system I remember. I think it was made in Pennsylvania. The maker might be out of business:dunno:

What the system basically consists of is an injector, vaporizer, key lock , regulator, lines and a tank.

The plumbing should go like this. From the tank to the key lock, on to the vaporizer, into the regulator, and then to the injector.

I don't know if you inject before or after the turbo. I've seen arguements both ways.

Would you have to run a placard for hazmat with the propane tank installed? Many tunnels would become offlimits with a propane tank installed. I could see a DOT cop claiming you need a placard for the tank at a scale. If your not a member at OOIDA this might be a good time to join because they can give a straight answer on the hazmat.

Hope this helps, but I know it ain't what you are looking for

Found the system, it's called the enhancer, I am waiting on pricing.
No Hazmat needed, and We are members of OOIDA.:D

I was thinking no hazmat placard required as long as the hazardous item being hauled was not over 1000lbs?

I don't know if the limit was 1000 lbs, but yeah pretty much if it's under a set number, I thought it was 500 lbs then you don't need a hazmat.
It's the same as hauling cars, the total gas in all the cars is under that number so you don't need hazmat.
