Question about NP205 ubolts ***Confirmed, its a CV.. Now What?***

Kewl, think thats the route im gonna go. Is it ok to use a square tube to sleeve it with? If not where would i get some round tubing for this?

I would prefer to sleeve it on the inside (obviously this will require round tube) as this will double duty as a strengthening point and also allow you to keep the shaft straight. Just make sure you phase the u-joints properly otherwise they will bind.

Your speaking jibberish to me. Phase, sleeve, wha? I imagine you mean put a slightly smaller diameter tube inside of the driveshaft, but then how the hell do you secure it in there? just make it long enough to be tight? And I have no idea what phase means in reference to this.

Yes, by sleeve i mean put a piece of tube inside the driveshaft tube and weld it first on one end and also plug weld it (plug welding is when you drill a hole in the driveshaft on either side so that once the piece of tube is inserted you weld the hole up mating the inner tube and driveshaft) i would also weld all the way around the two pieces, now once you have determined the length you need slip the other half of the driveshaft over the "sleeve" and then weld it the same way as the first half.

Here is what phasing is. http://www.clubfte.com/users/jniolon/drivelinephasing/drivelinephasing.html scroll down near the bottom of the page and it describes phasing.

you said you wanted to do the shaft up for me right? Ill get er off to ya tomorrow:-)
