Can the external lockout on a older D44 be bolted in place of a drive flange on the same vintage D44. Do I need anything more than just the lockout? I would like to know if i can just take off the lockouts and put them in place of the flange on another axle. Both are the old style D44 front axles. Hope that makes sence.

Thanks

Nope. The flange is a one way street. If you have both kinds of hubs, just swith them out. I had this same question a littl while ago...

They're a direct bolt on. Remove flanges, install hubs. (But keep the old flanges for trail spares, just in case you blow a hub in east nowhere). :cool1:

And really, really, keep on top of keeping the 6 hub bolts tight, they back off more with my hubs than they ever did with flanges.
