A friend of mine recently picked up an 1988 K5 with a 4 inch Rough Country lift. He wants to lower the height about two inches but doesn't have the money to replace the springs and pay for the labor to swap out. He asked me about de-arching and I told him that probably wasn't a good idea. I'm not sure what options he would have other then replacing the springs. What about drop shackles? Can he remove a spring?

Thanks

On the rear he could get drop shackles, I actually have a set I could sell him.
On the front though it's going to be tough, he has to replace the springs, no real way around it.
Maybe he can find someone that wants to do the opposite go up from a 2.5" to a 4" and he can just swap.

Wish you were closer, I have a 2 or 2.5 inch lift on my blazer that I'll be getting rid of shortly to go to 52s.

I would swap though, heck I'd even help him swap them if he was in the area.
well if he really wants to, he can drive up to you, it's not that far from North VA to Jersey, and he'd be getting help for the work.:thumb:

yeah def ill help him if he wants to swap them, i have all the tools and air, just have to deal with a gravel driveway but ive been dealing with that forever so its not that bad lol.
