Hi guys,

Newbie here, and am going to go check out an '86 Blazer that a guy's parting out. I'd love some feedback on ballpark pricing on what you guys would give for the items listed below, assuming used, but good condition, and that they are all still on the vehicle, meaning I'd be the one pulling them off.

  • Dash top that would match original color; Assuming un-cracked
  • Original center console thingy between the seats
  • Front quarter-panel; Also already matching color
  • Hood; Again, color matching destination vehicle
  • One rear cap window
  • Passenger seat
  • Hood; Color matching
  • Front bumper
I'm not hooked up with any local Blazer scene as of now, so my market-valuation is salvage-yard/Craigslist in scope. Also, I currently have all the aforementioned items, just looking to upgrade some slightly jankled bits.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Cheers,

Dave

Basically figure out what you can get the part for new from LMC, NAPA or Rock-Auto.com or the like and then peruse around here. Then decide what you'd pay for a used part you'd have to remove and possibly work on to fit to your vehicle.

Always amazes me what some folks want for used junk I'd have to rework/rebuild/clean/repair to work on my stuff.

Yep. That's pretty much what I did. Scored some good bits. When I first peered in through the window, I could see that the dash was definitely cracked (not surprising), but I immediately thought the kid fed me a line.

Then I opened the door, and indeed the rest of the interior was pretty mint, so the trip ended up being worth it.

Pretty fun trip, and had all his young gear-head homies out to see what the commotion was all about. Started the day up in Frisco after snowboarding, and finished it off out in the plains east of Denver in/under a Blazer. Ended up being like American Pickers, with me and my lady rolling away and everyone waving. :waytogo:
