are you referencing a 4x4 tail shaft and a RWD tail shaft?

very good pictures for referance. the transmission i picked up is definitely 4x4. the truck it came from was a 89, the transmission ID states it as an 87, so that part of the guy's story about getting a rebuilt (or at least different) transmission line up. hopefully he was telling the truth about it having 5,000 miles on it and working great are also accurate.
