What’s the thread count for the 3/8” & 5/16” fuel line fittings (89)? I feel like I’ve seen that it’s a metric size but can seem to find any info on it.

Trying to run AN line from the sending unit.

Thanks!

  • 16mm x1.5 to -6 9894DBJERL (Tank pressure)
  • 14x1.5 to -6 Russell 640820 (Tank Return)
These are the fittings I'm running on my tank.

make sure you run Russel hose with Russel fittings. I've found the Russel fittings don't play well with the other brands of hose if you try to mix match stuff...like putting one Russell end on a Jegs hose in a pinch

Well those fittings don’t work. Apparently these are standard. :surepal:

Called classic parts like I should’ve done from the start, but they don’t know either.....awesome.

Never buying anything from them again. Screwed up shipping orders twice and can’t even tell me basic info on their product.

Standard fittings will be a flare fitting.

Metric will have O-ring fitting.

An 89 should have metric fittings unless something got swapped. You can just buy a metric sending unit and drop it in

The sending unit came from classic parts.
They must be using the older style. I'll see if I can find the sizes.

They should be inverted flare fittings unless they are just hose barbs

O-ring? Called summit for an adapter, all they could tell me is that commonly the 3/8” tube is 5/8”-18 thread and 5/16” is 1/2”-20.

Ok I might’ve lied. The 3/8s adapter works, but I think the first few threads on the tube nut for the 5/16 might be a little jacked up. Gonna get a die to run over it tomorrow
