quick mileage question

okay so it doesn't really matter that much but i like to squeeze what mileage that i can get out of my suburban. i've had people tell me many things like "dont go on the freeway!" and "go on the freeway just stay at 50!"

right now its a 3/4 4x4 lifted 4'' with 36'' swampers. 3 speed geared at 4:10. i think it would make more sense to travel the highways across town at 50mph rather than go through town. lemme know what you guys think. money is really tight and with gas prices going up, im sure you guys know where i'm coming from.
 
As close to where you first go into last gear is where you get the best mpg. In town is way worse than highway. Unless by highway you mean 80+

haha well thats what i figured. highways it is! howcome you dont take the yellow sub on the highways then?

I have no need! and its geared all low too. Besides I never drive it far enough to need to go on the highway except hollister hills
