No fumes inside cab whatsoever. But when you warm it up in the mornings, you can barely stand the fumes coming out of the exhaust. Your sure wouldn't want to warm it up in the garage. But even after warmed up, you don't want to stand by it, makes your clothes and everything stink.

SO what might cause this. IT is an 89 TBI, factory manifolds, dual exhaust, stock style mufflers.

Sounds like it is running too rich or the CAT is bad or both. Running rich will kill a CAT quickly.

AhhhHaaah!

There is no cat on it at all. Just straight dual exhaust with two mufflers. U guys think that if I get a cat installed it will eliminate the fumes?? At least the majority of them??

bump

still need help on this one gang. reeks of exhaust outside of truck, fine inside.

As long as nothing was done to make your exhaust excessively rich like cam swaps or the A.I.R. system disconnected a new cat should help tremendously.

Don't bother putting one on of you are running rich. As 4x4high said. too much fuel = dead cat. Fix the reason you are running rich first, then install cat.

my exhaust doesn't stink that bad and I don't have cats... I'm running duals with flow-pro mufflers

X2, no cats and no A.I.R., plus headers and duals. No excessive smell except for the occasional puff of burning oil (old and wore out).

Cats help alleviate the exhaust stink...night and day difference on my 90 Blazer.
