Sorry guys, tried to do a search for this but I could not find anything. What is the gooey stuff that is on the middle, top, seem of the hardtop? Where the top bolts to the cab, right in the middle there is some gooey sealer/clay type stuff.

What is it and where can I find it?:D

Thanks

I think it is just white lithium greese. It helps seal water out and keep the gasket soft.

Might be "Dum Dum"(body shop slang for Body caulk)

3M sells some "Body Caulk" strips that look like modeling clay,it comes in thin strips about a foot long, looks like grey rope--that might be what someone stuffed in there to stop a leak, but I doubt that GM used it factory...

Yeah, I am pretty sure the stuff is from the factory. I had an 87 K5 back in highschool and it had the same stuff on the top. I went to a local dealer and asked them and they thought I was crazy.....:dunno: But, the sales guy glaced at my K5 and thought it was a Bronco!!!!:angry1: Go figure....
