How can I tell if my 1991 Suburban has ben retrofit to r134 or if it is still running r12? There are no stickers indicating r134. If the previous owner did the retrofit, would it have different low and high pressure ports or are they the same either way?

thanks,

134a uses fittings that look alot like a male air hose quick couplings. No threads

OK, thanks. I must have the r134a. It does have the quick connects on it. I bought one of the cheap PepBoys recharge kits and it snaps on.

thanks for the help.

if it has been converted, legally it should have a sticker, saying when and where it was done, and how much it holds. at least that's how it is here in wisconsin, but here u also need a license to buy refigerant.
