R12 to R134A questions on a 90 sub.

Well how would i go about geting a drop in R12 replacement? How much does that cost.

[/ QUOTE ]

Last i knew it runs about $45-$55/ pound.

I have never heard of them "not making it anymore" this is B.S. because other countries are still using it, just the anal U.S. ecopeople are causing all the fuss about it. There are much more dangerous chemicals and pollutants going into the air than r-12.

O.K. going to the parts store tomorow. Give me a shoping list /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif. Heres what i got so far as what i think i need.

-fittings
-O-Rings
-acumulator
-orifice tube
-Flush
-refrigerent
-PAG oil

Did I forget anything? So heres what im thinking then. corect me if im wrong.I'll fix the cracked line, flush the system, replace O-rings,re-assemble everything, pull vacume for 30 mins or so,do a pressure check, put the oil in(WHERE DO I ADD THE OIL??) Add a 8oz can of 134, start the truck and jumper the pressure switch, add remaining amount of 134, put the sticker on and be done.So do i have it right? what did i forget? am i doing anything in the wrong order?

If you are flushing everything, than I believe the ester oil would be called for. The AC shop AAApak in Phoenix, doesn't even carry the PAG oil IIRC.

This is a pic of where my line is cracked. Imagine if the little arrow was actually touching where it looks like its pointing. And no this is not my truck i found this pic on here just to show every one.
