I am rebuilding this truck from a basket case.

Dropped the radiator in the truck and went to 2 auto parts stores to get hoses. The hoses are the right length and curves but the diameter is WAY TOO small. I can stick the hose right into the radiator without even touching the opening if I am real carefull. No way it will even come close to stretching to fit.

Ideas?

are you sure that you dont have a diesel radiator, the hoses are larger on them?

measure the dia of the opening on the radiator and post it.

i know the 80sish and up rads had a smaller upper inlet on them. what rad are you running year range? and what truck ? then the rad itself is it a short or tall style this is a good give away as to the year range. tall=flush with top of core support. short = 2" below the top of core support.

The truck itself is an 82 (as posted in the title) and the radiator that came with it must be a "Tall" since it is flush with the top of the core support.
