I was driving back from the beach today and the fan blade came off the engine and spun into my radiator. thank god i was only two blocks from home, but now im in the market for a new radiator.
first off, what would cause the fan blade to come off? ive never really looked at it before and didnt want to be snooping around while the engine was spewing coolant
. but im just curious...
second, i dont want to drop the dough to get a be-cool rad $700, and the one that was in the burb was replaced last year and seemed mighty thin compared to the OE one that it replaced. Prior to the replacement radiator, the truck never approached 200 degrees, and ever since the new radiator went in it drove my temps to 210 on average, and 240 in the summer.
are there any other solutions or recommendations for a new radiator anyone has tried out on here? thoughts?
