My trazer project is getting close. Power steering box broke, waiting on a warantee replacement, have to do while I can with the truck shoehorned into the shop out of the rain, since I can't move it.

Radio install. Dash is some 3/4" box tube, pretty spartan. Decided I wanted tunes. am/fm/cd/mp3 player for $70 + $20 speakers + $8 antenna. I thought it seemed cheap enough to go ahead and do

OBA installed. A6 compressor. It has a seperate oil chamber, like a york, so you can use it for onboard air without worrying about an inline oiler. Had to make brackets since it's a CUCV 6.2

Rear bumper. 1985 CUCV bumper mounted on 1977 Jimmy frame. I cut 12" off the back of the frame, as much as I could and still make the bumper work. Bumper brackets are butted hard into the rear shackle hanger brackets. I just cut the frame ends off, and the cucv brackets slid right into the frame. clamped in place, drilled for the 6 bolts on each side, and done. Lights are parts store cheapies. Planning on building a flatbed later, so I'm not too worried that the lights are in an ugly spot. Also probably going to mount my spare in this position, just 8-10" higher to clear the batteries and gas tank mounted in the bed space.

so what is a a6 compressor? im going to the junkyard tomorrow and gonna look for a york 210....

axial 6 cylinder. used in GM's from the 60's well into the 80s. easier to find than a york, and according to the specs, should make the same or better output. Local guy has been running one for 5+ years... so I figured I'd try it.
