READ FYI. Penetrating lubricants. Scientific test.

we douche all the winterized motors with WD40, great water displacer.. tho I just bought some Kroil, and have lot's of PB from work, I'll give this a whirl at some point...

acetone and thinner are staples in Ryoken's Lab™ :haha:

Out of curiosity, does the acetone evaporate over time in the mixed bottles?
I use a bottle with the twisty tip that threads in and out to set spray pattern. I try to shut it when I'm done and the mix stays runny. If the acetone was evaporating out it would get thicker and end up being just ATF I guess.

I use kroil primarily, but I did give the ATF + Acetone a try and it worked great also. Cant verify which works better. I continue to use Kroil because I use it for gunsmithing as well, and like many others like the smell of Kroil much better than ATF.

I also use Kroil for the great smell.

I only use WD-40 for preventing rust on a freshly washed engine block/heads, and it works good for getting road grime/rubber off the quarter panels w/o hurting the paint.

I may have to try the Kroil, see how good it smells.
