Will a 91 sub /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif rear axle fit under an 89 1/2 ton /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif p/u? (once i get into the newer years i never can remember) May have my old 10 bolt sold if it does!

but, didn't the pickups change in 87? that's why i wasn't sure if the rear would swap.

yur right on that, they did change. id say measure em, and see if they will BOLT up. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Yes, you're right about the pickups changing style.
For some reason I'm thinking that the frames are wider on the newer body style (someone may want to confirm that) - so, if I'm right, the spring perches will need to be moved out and then it will bolt up.

*just did a search in the ifs forum to satisfy my curiosity, and got the figure 47.25" spring perch center-to-center...as opposed to 42.5" like your burb*

The 88 up 10B is wider than old style.I put 72 12B in 88SWB for while.Made it tight on inside of tires.14FF from 76 set width back out.Have to move spring pads, mabey shock mounts.Sub should work ok except pads. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Do you know if both the 2wd and 4wd axles are the same width on the newer (88-98) trucks? Could you swap 2wd shafts into a 4wd 10 bolt like you could with the old 12 bolts?
