I just inherited a '87 K5 Blazer and all the running gear is good,...it starts and runs and has a 305 w/manuel tranny. I need to get a check list of all what I should check out before I start running all over the place with it. Any suggestions would be helpful?

If all seems good, just check the fluids :) For insurance, drop the tranny fluid, axles, and engine oil. The stuff isn't expensive and changing it gives you a new slate. Also, a fuel filter is cheap too.

welcome aboard

Thank you K85 Octane,...I will definitely get the axle & tranny fluids changed up,I did however change the engine oil first thing along and I will need to flush the radiator while I'm thinking about it.

^ What he said. I'd also pull the spark plugs to see what they look like. Welcome aboard, lots of good info here. Got any pics?

Yo Shadowwalker,...I was trying to upload a couple of pictures but they only show up as my profile pic.,..so not sure how I need to place pics on here.

just put it on photobucket or whatever, then copy the .img or .jpg or .whatever and paste it in your reply.
