Hey guys long time no see. Been busy fixin the dam ford(parts running truck good mpg) anyway I picked up a eaton? One ton rear end that I was told came out of a 1970 c30 2wd and a Dana 44 eight lug outer. I've searched the interwebs for parts for this rear axle, and the most I've gotten is to put 14 BFF guts and axleshafts in it. It has a drop out third member, and 4.10 gears. I'm gonna run 37's to 40's (haven't decided yet) and a locker. I just need to know if the 14bff guts will work in side the axle? Thanks in advance.

I don't have a clue. But if you have access to 14bff innards, I assume you have a 14bff somewhere. In which case, why not just use the 14b? Is something wrong with the eaton or u just looking to re-gear?

It's an interesting question though. I might learn something.

Not access to them, but I can order parts a lot easier for a 14bff than a ho72. After looking thru the forums, a 14bff guts can go in side the eaton. And the eaton is stronger and has better ground clearance than a 14 bolt. So I'm now looking a Detroit locker and axle shafts or a 14 bolt.
