Is it okay to use a rear driveline for the front, if it fits?

If it fits there shouldn't be any issues. Older Furd Highboys had driveshafts that were matched length front and back so you could interchange in a hurry. Shouldn't be any issues, the driveline doesn't really care which way it turns.

Only a slip-yoke type wouldn't work. As long as it fits and there is a slip-spline in the shaft, you are good to go.
