Im replacing the rear bushings on my 81 k10 and dont even know wich bushings to get, i contacted summit to see what they say, now does anyone know wich to get, and does the new ones go in the sleeve as well??

Thanks..

The manufactures website will give you dimensions in relation to a part number. Yes, you need to remove the sleeve to fit a new bushing.

Most bushings you need to remove the outer shell. There are some urethane bushings that you need to retain the outer shell though but I haven't seen any in years now.

ok just so im clear on this, when putting new bushings in leaf springs you have have to get that outer sleeve out and then put the new bushing in. ok does the new uerathan bushings come with new outer sleeve or does it just not have one. im doing this in a week or so also.

Most Urethane bushings do not use an outer sleeve.

Exactly what i needed to hear, i think.

Stock rear leafs have a bushing inside a sleeve that goes in the main leafs eye, i dont get it why it is like that, in order to replace them you have to take the bushing out then the sleeve from what ive heard now the main eye is 1.5" ID so im guessing any 1.5 OD" bushing would fit in there am i right?? so why do the stores bother and ask what size shackle eye size you got??

I believe the shackle came in two different sizes for the bushings.

Also aftermarket springs ARE NOT all created equal (Superlift uses a different bushing than just about any other spring).

Mine are stock leafs.

And have a set of longer ones from a ford ranger and they have the same sleeve in them.
